Dr. Edward Viljoen presents his process behind creating a unique edition of a timeless epic with the absolute beginner in mind.  If you have wanted to read the Bhagavad Gita but felt daunted by the complex text, unfamiliar words and names, then this edition of the Gita is for you.  Dr. Edward wrote a book about this timeless epic, designed to be accessible for readers with out any prior experience of Hinduism.  In addition to the retelling of the text, the book features other helpful content, such as a character list, a glossary of important terms, the backstory of the Mahabharata, and an exploration of the impact and meaning of the Gita.

Rev. Dr. Edward Viljoen discovered Science of Mind while reading a book on a flight from his native South Africa to the United States. Upon arriving, he searched for the nearest Religious Science Church and immediately enrolled in the available classes.

He was the author of the Ernest Holmes Study Guide in the Science of Mind magazine for many years. He was ordained in May 1996 and graduated as a Sonoma County Law Enforcement Chaplain in April 1999. In 2003, he was awarded an honorary Doctoral Degree in Divinity from Holmes Institute. Free Event: Mind to Matter

A Stepping Stones Books and Gifts Free Event

an evening with author
Dawson Church

Date:  Friday, February 22
Time:  7 pm
Center for Spiritual Living Santa Rosa
2075 Occidental Road

Come hear author Dawson Church discuss Mind to Matter, his new book that chronicles the Astonishing Science of How Your Brain Creates Material Reality.

“Mind to Matter challenges the core principles of modern medicine and conventional science. Dawson Church makes a compelling case that the mind-body link is more profound than we ever suspected, and that science must expand its paradigm to include forces like consciousness, resonance, and energy. Profusely illustrated, the book includes an impressive compendium of research citations, from classic papers to recent breakthroughs. Many practical examples and exercises provide tools to work on our own personal transformation and, if the book’s thesis of interconnection is correct, our social transformation as well. I highly recommend this book.”
—Eric Leskowitz, MD, Department of Psychiatry,
Harvard Medical School
Dawson Church, PhD, is an award-winning author whose best-selling book The Genie in Your Genes has been hailed by reviewers as a breakthrough in our understanding of the link between emotions and genetics. His follow-up title Mind to Matter, reviews the science of peak mental states. He founded the National Institute for Integrative Healthcare to study and implement promising evidence-based psychological and medical techniques. His groundbreaking research has been published in prestigious scientific journals. He is the editor of Energy Psychology: Theory, Research, and Treatment, a peer-reviewed professional journal and a blogger for the Huffington Post. He shares how to apply the breakthroughs of energy psychology to health and athletic performance through EFT Universe, one of the largest alternative medicine sites on the web.

Very few people can say that they have been a singing mermaid, a singing casket, and was literally “elevator music” when she was hired to sing and play piano in a moving elevator. Meet Karen Drucker. Karen has recorded 15 CDs of her original inspirational music, and is the author of an inspirational book, “Let Go of the Shore: Stories and Songs That Set the Spirit Free.” Among her many accomplishments, she has been a professional comedienne, led her own band for corporate events, and has been the music director of New Thought Churches, as well as music director and “ music weaver” for many spiritual conferences and retreats. Karen has been honored with an Honorary Doctorate of Music for her work within the Religious Science Community, and a “Grace Note” award for her work within the Unity Movement.

Gary Lynn Floyd is an American singer-songwriter who connects straight to the heart and lifts up a room with his inspirational lyrics and soulful style.
A native of Houston, Gary began picking out melodies on a piano at four years old, and he’s been making music ever since. Today he writes and records deep and meaningful music, and shares these songs like a gift to audiences across the country. His style is a mix of pop, rhythm, and blues, combining silky vocals with powerful lyrics.
Bobby Jo Valentine is a nationally touring singer/songwriter who grew up on the seaside of Northern California. His songs are both earthbound and mystical, and speak of the gentle, everyday spiritual awakenings of an openhearted life. He's given a Ted Talk, been awarded Song of the Year three times at the West Coast Songwriter's Association, and performed all over the globe. His compelling, poetic storytelling and songs have built a growing following of listeners and supporters, and his most recent collections, "Fox Eyes, Whale Heart" and "Maybe Stars," are available everywhere music is offered online.
