Book Review: The Power of NOW

by Eckhart Tolle

I enjoyed reading The Power of NOW by Eckhart Tolle even more the second time. It seems like the practice of coming home to the present moment keeps getting deeper and easier. But it’s more than just paying attention to what is around you that Tolle is referring to, he is talking about living so present that there is no past and no future. It becomes an experience of not just being in life, but being life, living with no resistance. When we come home to now, we are free; accepting what is but not being bound by it. Life becomes a perfect flow and we are open to the the guidance that Life is always providing. Reading the book then became the practice itself.

Review by Rev. Ruth Barnharta staff minister at Center for Spiritual Living, Santa Rosa.
